New Songs

I've added 3 new songs to "Expecting To Fly" - really enjoying this process and project of arranging and recording songs from the 60's.

I've added "Carry On/Questions" from the Deja Vu album by CSN&Y - it was a big challenge to transcribe the 3 part vocal parts for piano while keeping the groove for the song. I did a video that celebrates the feel good late 60's fibes for "Carry On" and then took a hard look at the problems of racism and the horrible assassinations that took place and soured the optimism of the times for "Questions."

From Led Zeppelin 3 I added "That's The Way" - the challenge there was doing the melody and keeping the acoustic guitar groove going simultaneously with both hands. I love the ending of this piece; it just keeps climbing higher and higher.

And finally, from "Turn Turn Turn" by the Byrds I added a little played Gene Clark tune called "If You're Gone." Very wistful and evocative. I hope to add more tunes by the Byrds.
